Creativity and a cup of coffee.

Charming spots that invite you to live a unique experience.

At Barrio México, we love recommending cool places and coffee shops that offer an artistic vibe or something out of the ordinary—places that aren't just another spot in the city. In short, charming locations that invite you to have a unique experience when you visit.

This time, we’ve taken on the task of bringing you three coffee shop options you can't miss. As true connoisseurs of the city's most character-filled spaces, we’ve selected spots that are just a few blocks away if you’re planning to stay with us soon, making them perfect for exploring on foot.

1.- INHERENTE.

Our first stop on this tour is Inherente, a place that defines everything right about the Santa Tere neighborhood. The only requirement for entry is knowing how to ring the doorbell.

If you are staying atCasa Nicán, you can easily walk there, as it’s just a few blocks away. It’s the ideal spot to enjoy an afternoon filled with art, great coffee, delicious food, and a good vibe. Why not also take advantage of their late nights  to break up the week with a good drink?

Beyond being a perfect space to spend time with friends and colleagues, Inherente offers an exquisite menu, ideal for brunch, a quick bite, or trying a mix of sweet and savory flavors. They also host various cultural and artistic events throughout the month.

We recommend following them on Instagram and keeping an eye on their social media so you don't miss their incredible cultural offerings, which contribute so much to both the neighborhood and the city. During your visit, don't forget to stop by the latest exhibition at @galeriatiroalblanco, their exhibition space, which is a true gem.

2.- EL TERRIBLE JUAN.

The second meeting point is the delicious Terrible Juan, a place that puts Guadalajara on the map with its incredible coffee and has recently caught the world's attention by being recognized in The World’s 100 best coffee shops, as the #51 of the 100 best coffee shops in 2025.‍

And it’s well-deserved. This coffee shop warms our souls and makes life that much better with its coffee and freshly baked pastries, like their famous chocolate croissants. Plus, their exquisite breakfasts are a must: you can't miss their delicious chilaquiles torta or the red chilaquiles, which are so good they’ll make you want to do a little happy dance.

Their extensive menu offers even more options for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. If you are staying with us at Barrio México, we recommend staying at Casa Montore, one of our properties closest to this spot, which you can reach in just a 10-minute walk.

3.- DISRUPTIVO CAFÉ.

We’ve reached the third and final stop on this tour to show you that if anyone has ever told you it’s hard to make new friends and meet people at this age, it’s because they haven’t discovered this place yet. Disruptivo Café is the ideal spot to expand your social circle and enjoy an afternoon of games, all centered around a great cup of coffee.

This space is perfect for letting your imagination run wild, just as its name suggests: a different kind of place, unconventional and with a great vibe in the city. Their monthly calendar includes events and workshops on floral design, embroidery, film screenings, painting, poetry, and wine nights, in addition to coffee parties and heartbreak karaoke for the brokenhearted.

Don't miss out on everything this space has to offer. Follow them on social media to stay up to date with their schedule and their disruptive monthly celebrations. We recommend staying at Casa Morelos or Casa Kali, so your location allows you to explore the Americana neighborhood.
