At Barrio México we take care of your personal data. Here we explain what information we collect, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights.

Who is responsible for your data

Barrio México, based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (hereinafter, “Barrio México”), is responsible for processing the personal data you share with us through this website (www.barriomexico.travel), our booking engine, WhatsApp, email and our houses, in accordance with Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and other applicable regulations.

What data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identification and contact: first name, last name, email and phone number.
  • Booking or inquiry details: house or room of interest, dates of stay, number of guests and special requests.
  • Payment data: captured directly in the booking engine through its payment provider. This website does not capture or store full card numbers.
  • Communications: the messages you send us by email, WhatsApp or forms, including your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter.
  • Browsing data: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and other interactions, obtained through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not collect sensitive personal data. If you choose to share any with us, such as a dietary or health restriction, we will use it only to take care of your stay.

What we use your data for

We use your data for these necessary purposes, without which we could not provide our service:

  • Managing and confirming your bookings, stays and payments.
  • Answering your inquiries and requests for events, productions or tailor-made experiences.
  • Communicating with you before, during and after your stay.
  • Complying with legal, tax and security obligations.

And, unless you object, for these additional purposes:

  • Sending you our newsletter, news, promotions and content from the Neighborhood Blog.
  • Measuring and improving the performance of the site and our advertising campaigns.
  • Preparing internal statistics and satisfaction surveys.

If you don’t want us to use your data for the additional purposes, write to us at contacto@barriomexico.travel and we will record it. This will not affect the services you request.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it when necessary to provide our service or when required by law:

  • Technology providers acting on our behalf: booking platform, payment processing, web hosting, email and messaging, and analytics and advertising tools (such as Google).
  • Competent authorities, when there is a legal requirement.

These providers may only use your data for the contracted purposes and are required to protect it. Some may be located outside Mexico.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses cookies and measurement tools, such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads, to understand how it is used, improve your experience and measure our campaigns. It also includes third-party content, such as maps and social media posts, which may set their own cookies. You can disable or delete them in your browser settings; some features of the site may be affected.

Your ARCO rights

You have the right to access your personal data, rectify it if it is inaccurate, cancel it when you consider it is no longer needed and object to its use for specific purposes. You can also revoke your consent and limit the use or disclosure of your data.

To exercise them, send an email to contacto@barriomexico.travel with:

  • Your full name and a way for us to reply.
  • A copy of an official ID.
  • A clear description of the right you want to exercise and the data involved.
  • Any document that helps locate your data.

We will reply within a maximum of 20 business days from receipt of your complete request and, if applicable, we will carry it out within the following 15 business days.

How we protect your data

We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction or unauthorized use. We keep your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes of this notice and to comply with our legal obligations.

Minors

We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without the authorization of their mother, father or guardian.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect legal changes or changes in our practices. We will publish the current version on this page and indicate the date of the last update above. By using the site or sharing your data with us, you accept the current notice.
