A space that inspires.
The place where books, art, and great coffee come together to create the perfect atmosphere.

We love discovering more and more places in the city that offer this type of concept with fresh ideas, stepping outside of what we know as a typical coffee shop.
It’s no secret that we love this place and that we remind you every chance we get that it’s a must-visit, so we took it upon ourselves to dig a little deeper into the activities they have planned for this September.
Obviously, we’re talking about none other than Damiana Café, one of our favorite spots in Guadalajara. It’s a coffee shop and cultural space known for its cozy, airy interior patio, but above all, for its delicious menu.

It features quiet areas that are perfect for working or studying during the day, where you can take a moment to relax with a coffee while reading a good book—ideal for treating yourself to that much-needed time alone.
Take advantage of your visit to try their delicious breakfasts, grab brunch with friends, or better yet, spend a Sunday with your family gathering at this delightful café.
Damiana is the place where books, art, and great coffee come together to create the perfect atmosphere.
Did you know they have a cultural calendar featuring various activities throughout the month?
Here is some information on a few of their upcoming workshops. If you’re interested in being part of these experiences, we recommend following them on social media at @damiana.cafe so you can stay up to date on their future events.

If you’re into drawing and experimenting with new visual representation techniques, you can’t miss this workshop, “Life Drawing.”
This is an artistic practice where participants draw a person or model posing in various positions, often nude, allowing attendees to capture and study human anatomy, proportions, perspective, and movement.
These types of activities are an ideal tool for developing technical skills and understanding the human body. Since all creative activities have many benefits, we’re sharing a few to motivate you to give it a try—it might just be the challenge you were looking for to learn and push yourself by experimenting with new skills.

1.- You will learn to develop and improve your observation skills, as well as your handling of light and shadow in all their forms.
2.- Through your creativity and expression, you will interpret the human body in a unique way, developing your own perspective.
3.- You will improve your technical skills regarding drawing precision, proportions, shading, and details.
4.- You will put your patience to the test with life drawing, as this art form requires a great deal of concentration and discipline.
5. You will develop greater empathy and respect for the model's vulnerability and the human body, appreciating the different shapes and sizes that compose it.
On the other hand, if you prefer to delve into the world of writing and explore your full creativity through this activity, then you can't miss their workshop: “In-Person Writing – Body Seeking Its Voice.”

But do you know the benefits of incorporating this activity into your daily routine?
1. It improves retention and comprehension, as writing by hand requires greater concentration, which helps us strengthen, process, and retain information, improving our long-term memory.
2. Handwriting can be very relaxing; the fluidity of the movement helps us reduce stress and anxiety, achieving an active meditation to slow down the pace of our routine.
3. Through this practice, we foster mindfulness, which helps us be present, connected, and aware of our processes in daily life.
4. We are developing motor skills that strengthen the mind while simultaneously improving our manual dexterity.
5. Finally, you will be disconnecting from the digital world during this activity, giving yourself a break from social media and providing a sense of well-being to your day.
Don't forget to check their schedule in advance and sign up for their fun creative workshops. You can also enjoy their bohemian nights with concerts featuring pure local talent, or if you prefer, tablaos to dance to the rhythm of a Spanish night, oil painting classes, cultural movie nights, and much more.
