And how do you celebrate the planet?

Every April 22nd, the world pays tribute to Mother Earth to give thanks for the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Do you remember your first encounter with nature?‍

That first time you dipped your toes in the ocean, a starry night at summer camp, a weekend hike through the woods, or those five minutes of disconnecting in front of a landscape, when you just focused on contemplating and being present in everything around you.

Every April 22nd, the world pays tribute to Mother Earth to give thanks for the natural beauty that surrounds us.

This day invites us to reflect on the impact our small daily actions—whether good or bad, conscious or unconscious—have on the health of the planet.

Protecting the Earth isn't a trend; it's a responsibility shared by everyone who calls it home.

That is why, on this date, we invite you to raise awareness about the climate crisis, the loss of biodiversity, and excessive consumption.

It is an opportunity to inspire big or small changes that bring us closer to a more sustainable future.

There are many ways to celebrate the Earth, starting with small habits at home that you can incorporate into your daily life. At Barrio Mexico we are joining the celebration with some recommendations we can include in our routine. Let's start the challenge little by little, and believe me: from the very first day, we will all be grateful for it.

· Reduce energy consumption: unplug electronic devices you aren't using at home and switch your light bulbs to LEDs.

· Separate your waste into organic, recyclable, and non-recyclable. If you can also sort them into plastic, glass, and cardboard, even better!

· Save water while showering: try to keep showers short, turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or washing dishes, and fix leaks to avoid waste.

· Avoid using single-use plastic containers.

· Reduce your meat consumption. You can choose one day a week to go meat-free to help lower emissions and the use of natural resources.

· Choose eco-friendly products, such as solid shampoos and biodegradable detergents.

· Get around by bike if you have the chance, or walk for short trips. This way, you help reduce air pollution and add physical activity to your day.

· Spend time outdoors: go hiking or simply enjoy connecting with nature and letting yourself be embraced by it.

·     Very important: respect your surroundings, including the local flora and fauna. Please pack out your trash and do not damage the ecosystem.

AtBarrio México, we are joining the cause and are committed to conserving our planet, doing our part through the following actions.

In addition to those mentioned above:

·      We use solar panels to power our homes.

·      We provide biodegradable shampoo and body wash.

·      Our cleaning products are biodegradable and purchased in bulk.

·      Towels and linens are only changed upon request during your stay.

·      We use solar water heaters.

Celebrating the Earth means remembering that we are a part of it, not apart from it. That we don't stand above it, but rather inhabit it. Caring for the planet is an expression of love and is part of our way of life.

How do you celebrate this day?

See you soon.
