A guide to packing without losing your mind.

The key to being a good traveler isn't filling your suitcase, but knowing how to choose the essentials.

Packing can be one of the most exciting or most exhausting rituals, depending on the reason for your trip. It’s the moment when the adventure starts to take shape: you choose the essentials, imagine the plans you’ve made in your mind—and surely in your calendar or phone—and visualize every experience in your head.

But it can also be the exact moment when many travelers make mistakes by packing too much, or worse, forgetting something important.

The key to being a good traveler isn't filling your suitcase, but knowing how to choose the essentials and making the most of them during your time away from home.

Here, we share a list of items that work for us when we travel and that we believe should never be missing when you pack your bags.

OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS

Before any clothing or accessories, the first things in your suitcase should be your essential documents.

· Official ID or passport.

· Flight or transport tickets.

· Lodging confirmations and reservation information.

· Travel insurance.

If you want a real tip from an experienced traveler, carry digital or physical copies of your important documents. Save them in your email or in the cloud on your phone for any situation that might arise.

DAYPACK OR TOTE BAG

In addition to your main suitcase, a comfortable backpack or tote bag is essential. It will be your best ally during the trip.

In it, you can carry:

· Camera or phone.

· Water bottle or thermos.

· Sunglasses.

·     Sunscreen, very important.

·     A snack so you don't get hangry on the road.

Expert travelers know that comfort is key to enjoying every trip.

CLOTHING BASICS TO MIX AND MATCH

One of the best secrets we've learned after years of traveling is to pack clothes that can be worn for different occasions. Instead of bringing many full outfits, think of pieces that can be mixed and matched. That way, you'll be ready for anything from sightseeing during the day to grabbing a drink at a bar or going out to dinner at night.

Must-haves for your wardrobe:

·     A light jacket or sweater; it's very important to check the weather for your travel dates.

·     Comfortable shoes or sneakers for walking.

·     One dressier outfit for going out to dinner.

·     Very comfortable clothes for long journeys.

Remember: Less is more when it comes to functionality.

A SMALL FIRST AID KIT

Better safe than sorry. If you're a prepared traveler, bring a small kit with basic medications for any unforeseen issues. It doesn't take up much space, but it can make a big difference during your trip.

·     Personal medications.

·     Pain relievers.

·     Band-aids.

·     Hand sanitizer.

·     Wet wipes that always save the day.

ADAPTERS, CHARGERS, OR A PORTABLE BATTERY

In the digital age, running out of battery can be almost as problematic as losing your way.

So be sure to pack:

·     Phone and computer chargers (in case you're bringing one along).

·     Universal adapter.

·     Headphones.

They will help you stay connected, navigate with GPS, and capture every moment of your trip.

SPACE FOR SOUVENIRS

A good traveler always thinks of the people who couldn't make the trip, so there are plenty of reasons to bring them a memento and share your memories of the experience. Leave some extra space in your suitcase, not just for shopping, but for those little things: local crafts, traditional sweets, books, postcards, clothing, and more.

AND FINALLY, A TRAVELER'S MINDSET

Although it doesn't take up space in your suitcase, there is one thing that should never be missing from any trip: curiosity, openness, and a desire to discover it all.

The best travelers aren't the ones who pack the most, but the ones who know how to enjoy every place, try new flavors, explore the streets or trails, talk to locals, and let themselves be surprised by the adventure.

In the end, a good suitcase is packed with the essentials, but a great trip is filled with experiences that last a lifetime.

See you soon.
