Guadalajara is always a good plan.

Save the date for the next three months, as we have our sights set on the best events in the city.

The end of the year is approaching, and with the final three months of 2024 upon us, we know these are the best times to get out and enjoy Guadalajara. Here are some plans you absolutely must add to your calendar for your next visit.

            FIESTAS DE OCTUBRE.

If you're a local, you definitely know what we mean when October arrives: the city turns into a party. It is one of the most traditional and important celebrations in Guadalajara, offering a wide variety of cultural and artistic activities.

For an entire month, both tourists and locals attend this celebration, which kicks off on October 4th with an opening parade through the city streets and concludes on November 4th. You can't miss the exhibitions in the various pavilions dedicated to crafts, agriculture, gastronomy, and commerce.

We recommend heading to the fair to enjoy all the rides and entertainment; we’re sure you’ll have as much fun as a kid, with games available for all ages. Here is the link to check the musical lineup for events at the Auditorio Benito Juárez and other locations around the city. Enjoy this great celebration in Guadalajara!

         CALAVERANDIA.

We know that October is one of the most beautiful and festive months in Mexico, as cities start to turn orange in preparation for the Day of the Dead. If you love this celebration as much as we do, we have the perfect plan for these dates.

This theme park is dedicated to celebrating one of Mexico's most iconic traditions: the Day of the Dead. It’s a combination of art, culture, technology, and decor inspired by skulls, altars, and ornaments related to the symbols of this holiday.

Every year, this park surprises us with new features, such as projections, light shows, live music, giant altars, interactive tours, and Catrinas and skeletons walking around. It’s a place where children and adults learn to pay tribute by interacting with the theme of death from a festive and educational perspective.

But before you leave, you have to try the incredible Mexican snacks at Calaverandia, like the delicious pan de muerto paired with a hot atole. We recommend following the account for Calaverandia on social media to check all the details on pricing for adults and children; their grand opening is coming up on October 25th.

        VINOMA.

For wine lovers, we also have plans, as VINOMA is a wine and gastronomy festival held in the "Perla Tapatía." It brings together various wineries, primarily Mexican, with the goal of promoting and celebrating wine culture in a completely relaxed atmosphere.

During the festival, you can enjoy wine tastings, meet producers, and attend workshops and conferences about the world of wine. Best of all, you can pair your wines with an excellent selection of dishes from various local chefs throughout your experience.

This year it will take place on November 9th at Grandala, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Be part of this magnificent festival, which has become a true benchmark for wine and gastronomy connoisseurs in Guadalajara. It’s the perfect plan to enjoy with friends or a partner, spend a relaxing day, and have a few glasses of red wine in hand. You can't miss it.

We’re sharing their Instagram account so you can check out all the details, as the date is getting closer.

        FIL.

If you’re more of a classic and love literature, you’ll know that Guadalajara at the end of November is the host par excellence for the FIL – The Guadalajara International Book Fair. It is one of the most important literary events in the world and the largest Spanish-language book fair.

During this great fair, we have the honor of welcoming authors, publishers, literary agents, and readers from all over the world to the city. It was founded by the University of Guadalajara in 1987 and remains one of the most iconic international events every year.

What are you waiting for to mark your calendar and stop by to enjoy all the cultural diversity found within each of the literary pavilions, including book presentations, conferences, roundtables, debates, exhibitions, and plays. Of course, it’s a great reason to refresh your nightstand reading and go in search of new recommendations!

      NAVIDALIA.

And to close the year with a flourish and start experiencing the magic of Christmas, we have none other than Navidalia. The themed festival held at Parque Ávila Camacho, where you can enjoy an experience that combines Christmas lights, decorations, carols, live music, and shows during your visit.

Through a journey to various themed realms, you will find different representations of traditions, customs, and styles of how Christmas is celebrated around the world. You can get up close and experience the Nordic Realm, the European Realm, the Middle Eastern Realm, and, of course, the Mexican Realm.

Each one has a different inspiration, such as our classic tradition of piñatas, "pedir posada," and tasting all the seasonal Christmas food. But if you want to hear classic carols, you'll have to visit the European Realm, stop by the Middle Eastern Realm to learn the Christmas stories of the Three Wise Men, and finally, walk through a true winter with landscapes full of artificial snow and fantastic creatures in the Nordic Realm.

You can't miss the opportunity to attend with your family or friends this year, as the festival has an incredible ability to create a festive atmosphere that blends entertainment and culture during the holiday season.

With these recommendations, your calendar will be full until 2025.

See you soon.
