Decor in Barrio México
Each of our houses features a unique design.

If you’ve ever stayed with us at Barrio México, you’ve likely noticed that each house has its own unique and quirky decor. All 7 houses have their own distinct style and signature details, but they all share one thing in common: they make you feel right at home.

Casa Montore is distinguished by its neutral tones and cozy decor, featuring that warm sunlight (our favorite) that streams through the hallways in the afternoons, reaching the central courtyard or the upstairs terrace through the windows. You’ll find the entire house surrounded by plants, with clay and ceramic pots and vases adding a traditional Mexican touch to every corner.
Its matte tile floors and walls are complemented by embroidered textiles on the beds and rugs on the floor, while the furniture—a blend of wood and wicker—pays tribute to 80s style with a modern twist.

If you’re looking to experience a blend of Mexico and Greece, Casa Blanco is the perfect choice. It’s a renovated space with bohemian touches, a small pool in the center of the house, one of our signature Barrio México skull walls, embroidered textiles, patterned floors, and blue accents on the doors and windows that add a Greek flair.
All of our mini-apartments have their own equipped kitchen, making them perfect for a short stay or even a long-term visit thanks to the cozy, homey atmosphere—or simply for meeting new friends at gatherings in the communal kitchen. The charm of walking under the bridge filled with plants and flowers, with its cobblestone patio and climbing vines, is ideal for soaking up the morning sun with a cup of coffee and a book in hand.

Casa San Fernando is the bachelor pad everyone wishes they had. It’s in a great location in the coolest neighborhood in the city, with fresh, contemporary, and abstract decor. Vibrant colors define the space; upon entering, you’ll find our communal living room filled with paintings, books, lamps, and a neon sign that calls us by our name: “puro barrio.”
Its entrance feels like an old apartment building in Mexico City, with the black ironwork that characterizes its glass doors and windows. These mini-apartments feature an integrated kitchen, wall decor, a sofa bed, and a dining area.

A tropical vibe always makes you feel like you’re on vacation, no matter where you go, and that’s exactly the atmosphere at Casa Kali. One of our most youthful houses, it’s surrounded by the freshness of the many pots and plants at the center of the house, right next to the pool. It features touches of modern and contemporary art hanging on the walls, both in the entrance and in each of the rooms.
Because of its aesthetic decor, it’s often a favorite among our collaborators, as the communal terrace on the ground floor is one of the most popular spots for brands to shoot campaigns and product photography. And I have to share a secret: its tiled facade is one of my favorites.

This space is charming from the moment you walk in, and Casa Ixaya is like being transported back to the 80s with its eccentric decor, which reminds me of my parents' or grandparents' house back in the day. In the entrance living room, you’ll find a large, glowing “Barrio México” sign that welcomes you to your stay with us. If you pay attention as you walk, you’ll notice the incredible pattern that adorns the entire house.
The rooms feature a mix of contemporary art, and the furniture design is perfectly in tune with the house's style—we see that wicker we love so much combined with wood once again. Round mirrors decorate some of the walls, perfect for a selfie. And we can’t forget the spectacular terraces on both the ground floor and the third floor, where you have a view of one of the city’s tallest buildings under a blue, sunny sky—a great place to relax in our hammock, read, or simply enjoy the fresh air.

AtCasa Nicán is one of our spaces where you’ll want to stay for more than just a few days; its mini-loft concept is so cozy that it feels like your own place. The two-story layout with a mezzanine adds a nice touch by keeping your bedroom separate from the other living areas.
The color palette is neutral, featuring black, gray, and yellow, with blue doors adding a pop of color. The floor tiles are a blend of artisanal design contrasted with modern concrete, while the exposed brick walls give it a youthful style that balances the modern and the rustic.

Casa Morelos It is the envy of everyone, serving as the main gathering spot for all our guests as the only café in Barrio México. Here, you will find a space to enjoy a delicious sandwich, chilaquiles, coffee, or fresh orange juice, among many other options.
The entrance hallway will remind you of the area's historic homes, featuring central terraces and a small fountain accompanied by another one of our famous skull walls. The fully equipped communal kitchen invites you to socialize with other guests during your downtime, and I can't forget to mention the lovely second-floor terrace, which offers a perfect view of the entire neighborhood. The rooms have a bohemian touch with textile embroidery and Mexican handicrafts used as decor in every corner.
We are sure that after this tour of our homes' decor, you will be eager to visit them all and live the experience just as we do. Discover every picturesque detail that will accompany you during your stay and enjoy the charms of our city through Barrio México.
