A getaway through 5 Haciendas in Jalisco.
There’s nothing like a change of scenery outside the city.

A break from the routine is always a good idea; in fact, it helps us recharge for the days ahead and adds a little fun to our downtime. There’s nothing like a change of scenery outside the city to truly experience the benefits of unplugging.
AtBarrio Mexico We love Guadalajara—it’s full of culture, great people, food, nightlife, and tequila, all with a rich history found in the surrounding haciendas, just a few hours' drive away and ready to be enjoyed over the weekend.
In Jalisco, haciendas are a fundamental part of the state's history and culture. These historic properties, dating primarily from the 17th to the 19th centuries, were centers for the production of corn, sugarcane, agave, and more. Since then, they have played a significant social and political role, especially during the colonial era.
They are known for their beautiful architecture, featuring grand houses, chapels, courtyards, and stunning gardens filled with rose bushes, as well as the tranquility that surrounds them. That’s why we took on the task of finding 5 Haciendas near the city for you to go and explore.
