5 Bars to Take You Party-Hopping Through La Americana

Spots in La Americana you won't be able to resist.

If there’s one thing Guadalajara is known for, it’s a legendary love for a good night out. If you’re looking to experience a nightlife adventure on your next visit to this great city, we’ve put together five recommendations in La Americana that you won't be able to resist—perfect for grabbing a drink and pairing it with a delicious local-style dinner.

First on our list is the famous "Turbio," which lives up to its name with the quality of the wines in its cellar. It’s an excellent spot to enjoy a natural wine and try the house specialty, like their orange wine. When you order, don't miss their unique way of serving, which is truly top-tier. From Wednesday to Sunday, you’ll find it packed, making it the perfect place to go with friends, a date, or just to enjoy your own company and meet new people.

We recommend arriving early to wait for a table while you sip a cold craft beer at the bar. Once you're seated, be sure to try their delicious menu, such as the incredible honey pizza, the exotic salad pizza, or the famous grilled cabbage with sweet peanut sauce, all while enjoying great conversation and music.

Coming in second is the authentic “De la O cantina,” a mystical place full of Mexican culture that transports you to the traditional ranch bars of our beloved Jalisco. The vibe perfectly matches their selection of agave spirits. You’ll find famous drinks named after the revolutionary era, and the unique menu makes for a complete experience thanks to their extraordinary mixology.

To pair with your drinks, try their delicious snacks like panela cheese with chicharrón, the stuffed chili taco, or the exquisite cecina. We recommend stopping by this spot to take a trip back in time and experience traditional Jalisco. They don't take reservations, so the earlier you arrive, the better.

And how about the perfect combination for a Thursday night: an open-air terrace and a gin in hand? Located on the third floor, the third spot on our list is“Jacaranda Bar,” a place with a view of the city sky and stars, surrounded by plants and excellent background music. It’s ideal for chatting or enjoying the night to the rhythm of a guest DJ.

Their delicious sourdough pizzas and fantastic mixology make this an authentic experience. We recommend ordering an Aperol or Negroni to start the night and pairing it with a snack, like their “Jacaranda fries” with a touch of truffle cheese. Book your table in advance, as it’s very popular with locals. This place is a must!

If you’re into dancing and enjoying good mezcal, you’ll love our fourth spot, “El Pare de Sufrir.” True to its name, this is quite an adventure for both locals and visitors, featuring an eccentric musical mix you’re sure to love. The night is young and long, so get ready to start the party late or keep it going right here. The disco ball will be the highlight of the night, and what better way to feel like a true local than joining in when everyone starts shouting “bolaaa-bolaaa.”

This is a true mezcal temple offering a variety ranging from the strongest and most fiery to the smoothest. You can also find craft beer and unique spirits, like their signature punch in various flavors. So, if you’re ready to dance to some cumbia or listen to live music throughout the night, this is the perfect spot.

Last but not least, in fifth place, we have “Farmacia Rita Pérez,” an exotic bar with a great musical variety for all tastes and ages. The experience depends on the luck of who you share the jukebox with that night and the songs your friends or partner choose.

We recommend the classic, delicious, and spicy aguachiles, or their burritos, tortas ahogadas, or tasty tacos paired with an ice-cold beer. But the best part is the atmosphere at midnight, when you’ll end up singing your heart out to classics by Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, or even “La Gata bajo la lluvia” by Rocío Dúrcal. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

I hope your visit is as fun as mine was while putting together this party tour!

See you soon!
